'Tan ungrateful despite being most favoured'

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) called on its "rebellious" Deputy President Datuk Raymond Tan to be more conscientious and honest on the rationale behind his decision to remain in Barisan Nasional (BN), instead of claiming he was ditched by party president, Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee.

In a statement, Friday, SAPP's new information chief Chong Pit Fah described Tan's statement as "ungrateful, mischievous and malicious". "He (Tan) is a senior State Cabinet Minister and a Deputy Chief Minister.

Why would SAPP ditch him? He shouldn't make this as an excuse for him to continue to remain in the Barisan Nasional. "I believed any right-thinking Sabahan could tell what is the true rationale for him to continue to remain in Barisan Nasional," he said, adding that all these years, Tan was the most "favoured and protected" by Yong among its leaders.

He cited for example it was Yong who insisted that Tan hold the party's Deputy President as well as the Deputy Chief Minister post. On Tan's remarks that he was isolated by the party, Chong countered that by right Tan should have been removed as Sandakan Zone chief as, since his appointment five years ago he "had failed to conduct any meeting for his division".

Chong also took a swipe at Tan for complaining to the media that at its recent Supreme Council meeting he found that his seat was removed just because he was late for 15 minutes. "If he (Tan) could get agitated over such a petty thing, then he must not say that there's no reason for SAPP to leave BN just because the party was not invited to the BN meeting for six consecutive times. He should have understood how the party felt about it," he said.

He explained that due to an overwhelming turnout on that day, the seats of all those who were late or absent were immediately occupied by those who came early, adding that as soon as Tan turned up, more than half an hour late, he was immediately given a seat.

Besides this, he also noted that contrary to their claims earlier, both Tan and its other Supreme Council member, Jimmy Wong in fact left the conference room only after the meeting and having sung the party song. He, nevertheless, wished Tan, Wong and its former Youth chief-cum-Elopura Assemblyman, Au Kam Wah, all the best in their future undertakings.

Altantuya Trial: Is the Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Involved?

Dr Shaariibuu, who arrived here on Sunday evening, said he was aware of Raja Petra’s recent arrest for allegedly publishing a seditious article on his web portal.
Describing Raja Petra as a person trying to seek justice, he said he was worried that Raja Petra would encounter a hard time because of his efforts.
Dr Shaariibuu claimed there were also people who wanted to “take action” based on what they had read from Raja Petra’s statutory declaration.
“But before they take action, they came and asked me for my advice. I then asked the Mongolian government for advice because my government is very concerned about these issues,” he said.

Let's compare oil prices

Further The Star made a comparison of prices in Thailand , Singapore and Indonesia . For Thailand it is quoted at RM3.90/liter, however are they aware that in Thailand new cars are cheaper than Malaysia by RM10,000? They pay only one life time for their driving license? No renewal fee after that? Also that goes for road tax as well? And do TheStar also aware that you can drive all the way from Hadtyai to Bangkok on a six lane highway without paying any Tolls ??!! Whereas here in Malaysia you have to pay yearly renewal for road tax , driving license and TOLLS, TOLLS, TOLLS!!!For Singapore how can you quote RM 5.20 ? Please quote in Singapore Dollars because they are earning in Sing Dollars. You might as well say Europeans are paying RM10/liter. RM5.20/liter = Sing $ 2.20/liter, still cheaper than Malaysia in view of fact that Singapore is not a crude oil exporter. Are you saying that you fill up petrol in Singapore by paying Ringgit? In an economy, dollar to dollar must be compared as apple to apple. Not comparing like durian in Malaysia is much cheaper than durian in Japan !! Of course-lah, Japan is not a durian producer!!! Comparing Malaysian durian with Thai durians make more sense!! For Indonesia we might say, is cheaper there at RM2.07/liter but compare that to their level of income! Now, let us compare the price with OIL PRODUCING countries:UAE RM1.19/litreEygpt RM1.03/litreBahrain RM0.87/litreQatar RM0.68/litreKuwait RM0.67/litreSaudi Arabia RM0.38/litreIranRM0.35/litreNigeria RM0.32/litreTurkmenistan RM0.25/litreVenezuela RM0.16/litreMALAYSIA RM2.70/litreRM 2.70!!! 'Chinese blood': Charge Najib under Sedition Act

It is widely documented that in the days preceding Operasi Lallang in October 1987, Najib Razak then as the head of Umno Youth, made a speech at a rally in Kampung Baru where he vowed to bathe his keris in the blood of Chinese Malaysian citizens.
And this speech was delivered against a background of banners by Umno Youth saying such things as ‘May 13 has begun’ and ‘Soak it with Chinese blood’.
I would therefore like to invite my fellow Malaysians to join me in a call to the Polis Di-Raja Malaysia and the Attorney-General's Chambers to investigate, without fear or favour, Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak and to determine if he had indeed violated the sections above of the Sedition Act.

Federalism in Malaysia

"At the formation of the federation 44 years ago, Sabah was considered incapable of governing itself due to the lack of qualified and experienced local administrators and political leaders.
"Now Sabah is ready to stand on its own feet and govern itself, not only because its people have progressed under Malaysia, but also it has kept pace with the general progress mankind has chalked up worldwide. Sabahans no longer need outsiders to help run the government and the State."
