Ex-PM quits UMNO

ALOR STAR: Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has quit Umno with immediate effect. Dr Mahathir said he made the decision to leave Umno as he had lost confidence in the party’s present leadership for failing to protect the interests and well-being of the Malays.
